From September 4th to September 6th, 2026 a technical pond near Yarkovo village (on the outskirts of Minsk, right after Sukharevo district) acted as a gravity center for the most outstanding modelers. The reason was Belarus Open Championship and Junior Championship “Minsk Grand Prix-2026” among FSR Classes. In total, 10 teams and 40 competitors met and participated in radio-controlled boat races...
The whimsical weather was a genuine trial both for models and their pilots. Still, neither the gusts nor the heavy rain could disrupt the starts. On the contrary, the excitement was even greater and these three days virtually flew at one go. Just imagine the roaring engines, sprinkles and splashes, storm waves and the modelers’ uncompromising struggle for even the 100th part of a second (which often turns out to be decisive).
The severe weather conditions served as a litmus test for the competitors who had to make use of all their expertise. And they did so, clearly demonstrating their stamina, pinpoint precision when navigating the models and lightning-fast response. Both experienced modelers and ambitious juniors were brilliant: enormous concentration and high-level expertise are absolutely necessary if one wants to overcome a storm surge at the top speed and at the same time to maintain the boat trajectory. Our congratulations to the triumphant winners - masters of speed and elements!
