“Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” International Shipmodeling Competition in C Category (static models) finished in Novorossiysk on 5 November 2023. In total, 209 ship models were vying for the Cup – 145 senior models and 64 junior ones.
The top award of the international competition was “Gold Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” and “Lev Alyoshin’s Cup” given at the Russian Shipmodeling Sport Championship 2023 (C Category). The latter Cup commemorates Lev Alyoshin, one of the most prominent Russian ship modelers, and is given to the “Best Model of Russian Static Shipmodeling Championship 2023”...

“Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” protocols

Both cups were awarded to Vladimir Kunets (Feodosia, Crimea, Russia) for his С5С Class diorama named “Battle of “Alexander” Brig with the French Squadron, 1806”, 99.33 points.

The main junior prize, “Gold Junior Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” went to Nikolay Ilyin (Korolyov, Russia) for his “Steregushchiy” corvette model, 94.33 points, С2J Class.

Both Silver and Bronze Cups were won by Alexander Kovalchuk (Minsk, Belarus). The “Silver Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” was awarded for his “Aurora” battleship, 99 points (С4В Class) and the “Bronze Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” - for “Ryurik” armoured cruiser, also 99 points (С3С Class).

The organizing committee of “Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” and Russian Championship 2023 gave Vyacheslav Stepanov (Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol region, Russia) a special award – Vladimir Churilin’s Memory Cup “For Commitment to Russian Shipmodeling Sport 2023.”

In total, there were 46 gold winners at “Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” as well as 38 silver and 27 bronze medal winners.

Besides, 14 model builders from several Russian cities (such as Kirov, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Obninsk) and the Belarussian capital city brought their models, 48 altogether, which participated out-of-competition.

“Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” included 19 nominations where modelers could compete. One of them was “Modeluyshka 2023”, or “The best model among female authors”, and Alina Dolgaya (Germany) won in this nomination. Among “age” nominations, the winner was Robert Gurtsiev (Vladikavkaz, Russia) as the youngest participant; and Vladimir Timofeev (Krasnodar, Russia) as the oldest one. The only nomination independent of the judges’ team decisions was “Delight 2023” (Audience Choice Award) and it was won by Igor Belokon, Novorossiysk, Russia, for his “Fatal Collision (“RMS Titanic”)” diorama, С6D Class.

And each and every winner and prize-winner in 43 classes, 19 nominations and 5 cups of the “Tsemes Bay Cup-2023” International Competition was awarded with medals, diplomas, memorable certificates and valuable prizes!

The judges’ team was comprised of 21 judges and 6 competition secretaries supervised by Dmitriy Kalmykov (Minsk, Belarus) who well suits this challenging task being Judge of International Category, Chief Coach of Belarus national teams in technical and aviation sports, and President of SMSIF (ShipModel Sport International Federation).
